This Young Wild Fan From The Minnesota Children's Hospital Really Had The Best Goal Call Of The Weekend
NHL - Minnesota Wild fan Obadiah Gamble, a 7-year-old former patient of the St. Paul Children’s Hospitals and Clinics of Minnesota, was invited to Sunday’s game against the St. Louis Blues to make the “Let’s play hockey!” announcement.
Gamble did an admirable job firing up the crowd. But perhaps his best moment came during the in-game interview.
As Fox Sports’ Kevin Gorg interviewed the youngster about his experience at the game, Nino Niederreiter’s goal gave the Wild a 2-0 lead in the second period.
The guy from BC women’s hockey was good. Maybe even great. But it’s not even his call. He stole it from the Caps play by play man. You can’t just jack someone’s key call like that. Meanwhile my guy Obadiah Gamble knocked it out of the park. That was just raw emotion. You can’t plan that. The guy from BC had that line written and practiced for months, waiting to use it. Obadiah had nothing planned. Didn’t even know he was going to be on the air during a goal. And he crushed it. Easily the best goal call of the year. Definitely has a bright future in the biz. Shouts to Obadiah. Keep crushing it.
